Throughout my life, I have witnessed people being silenced by power dynamics which pervade our communities. I have dedicated my life to using my voice to empower the silenced, and helping others develop their voice so they can raise it with joy. In my journey as a classically trained musician to CCM crossover artist, I encompass duality to challenge expectations. My art connects the duality of experiences, from extreme visceral saturated euphoria to the hollow faded anguished void. I draw upon my experience as a Korean adoptee exploring the duality of culture and conflict of identity. Transracial adoptees are silenced by the white savior complex narrative, and I seek to amplify adoptee voices by sharing my struggles with the 7 core issues of adoption through an EP and a crossover genre performance project. I utilize my perspective living with Histrionic Personality Disorder to bring my audience to the saturated extremes of the human experience. Often those with cluster B personality disorders are silenced by the stigma, and struggle to seek help and healing. I use my music to show the world we aren't all that different from everyone else, and draw parallels from cluster B personality disorder experiences to the common human experience. My work as a sacred liturgical music director has challenged me to explore the secular to find spiritual truth, and I use religious themes to convey my story through songwriting. Most of all, I am influenced by grapheme-color synesthesia, to create harmonic color in my creations.
